Kraft Bubble Paper Roll is a single-layer embossed kraft paper cushioning material — formed entirely from kraft paper pressed into a uniform globular (round-dome) bubble pattern, with no plastic film, no PE layer, and no laminate. The embossed bubble structure gives the paper three-dimensional cushioning performance: each dome absorbs and distributes impact energy across its surface on contact, providing protection comparable to plastic bubble wrap while remaining 100% paper-based, curbside recyclable, and biodegradable. Designed as a direct substitute for plastic bubble wrap and EPE foam roll in export packaging operations where sustainability credentials, customs documentation, or buyer requirements mandate plastic-free packaging. Supplied in roll format from our factory to export manufacturers across Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
The globular embossed structure is formed by pressing the kraft paper between patterned rollers during manufacture. Each raised dome is an integral part of the paper itself — there is no air-filled sealed bubble as in plastic bubble wrap. Cushioning performance comes from the three-dimensional geometry of the embossed pattern: the domes compress and deform elastically under load, absorbing impact energy. The paper’s natural fiber structure adds tear resistance and allows the material to be torn cleanly by hand without tools.

Unlike kraft-backed bubble wrap (kraft paper laminated to a PE bubble film), this material contains no plastic layer of any kind. The entire roll is kraft paper. This distinction matters for buyers and export markets where plastic content in packaging must be declared, reduced, or eliminated — including EU packaging regulations, retailer sustainability requirements, and green procurement criteria increasingly applied by ASEAN export buyers.
The round-dome emboss pattern provides cushioning through geometric deformation rather than sealed air chambers. This means the material does not “pop” or lose cushioning performance if the surface is punctured — unlike plastic bubble wrap where a single puncture eliminates the air cushion in that cell. The embossed structure retains its protective geometry throughout handling.
Kraft paper tears cleanly along the cross-grain direction, allowing packing line operators to tear off the required length by hand. This reduces tool dependency at the packing station and speeds up wrapping operations compared to plastic bubble wrap, which typically requires cutting tools for a clean edge.
The embossed surface texture creates friction between overlapping layers when the material is wrapped around a product. For many items, this friction hold is sufficient to keep the wrap in place without tape — reducing consumable use per pack and speeding up the packing process.
Roll format means no dimension constraint. Cut or tear to the length required for each product, wrap to fit, and secure. A single roll width covers a wide range of product sizes — particularly efficient for operations packaging varied product dimensions without stocking multiple pre-formed bag sizes.
The primary application for kraft bubble paper roll is export packaging where the end buyer, destination market regulation, or retailer compliance program requires plastic-free or reduced-plastic packaging materials. The 100% paper construction satisfies these requirements without requiring documentation of plastic content or weight — the material contains none. Relevant for manufacturers exporting to EU markets, Japan, and buyers with published packaging sustainability commitments.
For e-commerce operations, kraft bubble paper roll provides an unboxing experience consistent with eco-friendly brand positioning — the natural brown paper appearance signals sustainability to the end consumer at point of opening, without the negative associations of plastic bubble wrap. Suitable for wrapping ceramics, glassware, cosmetics, homeware, and other consumer goods where both protection and presentation matter.
The embossed dome structure provides surface cushioning and scratch prevention for fragile items including ceramics, glassware, porcelain, and light electronics accessories. The wrap conforms to the product surface, providing consistent contact cushioning across the wrapped area.
Beyond wrapping, kraft bubble paper roll is used as void fill between packed items in shipping cartons and as a layer separator between stacked products. The embossed structure maintains a consistent stand-off gap between product surfaces, preventing contact damage without requiring EPE foam sheets or plastic air pillows.
Kraft-backed bubble wrap is a laminate of kraft paper and a PE plastic bubble film — it contains plastic. Kraft bubble paper roll (this product) is embossed kraft paper only — a single material with no plastic component of any kind. If your requirement is to eliminate plastic from packaging entirely, kraft bubble paper roll is the correct product. If a heavier plastic bubble cushioning layer is acceptable, kraft-backed bubble wrap provides greater cushioning depth. For bags in either material, see our Kraft Paper Bubble Flat Bag and Kraft Paper Shockproof Bubble Bag.
For light-to-medium weight products — consumer goods, ceramics, glassware, cosmetics, and light electronics accessories — embossed kraft bubble paper provides comparable surface cushioning and scratch prevention. For heavy or highly fragile industrial components requiring substantial drop-impact protection, plastic bubble wrap or EPE foam typically provides greater cushioning depth. Choose based on your product weight and fragility level.
Yes. Kraft bubble paper roll can be crumpled loosely and used as void fill inside shipping cartons, used as flat layer separators between stacked products, or wrapped directly around individual items. The same roll serves multiple packaging functions at the same station.
Yes. The material is 100% kraft paper with no plastic layer — material composition can be confirmed in writing for compliance documentation purposes. Contact us if you require a material declaration for buyer or customs requirements.
Yes. Roll width and metres-per-roll are both customisable. Standard widths (300 mm, 380 mm, 500 mm) are available for smaller orders; custom widths can be specified for volume orders. Contact us with your required dimensions and we will quote accordingly.
