Heat-sealed at 130–160°C using a standard impulse sealer, the closure eliminates any moisture ingress pathway through the bag opening. Once sealed, the bag cannot be reopened without cutting, providing tamper evidence for inventory control and incoming goods inspection.
For components classified at MSL 2 and above under JEDEC J-STD-033, sealing with a silica gel desiccant packet removes residual moisture and maintains internal relative humidity below 10% RH — preventing contact corrosion and the popcorn effect during subsequent reflow soldering.
A humidity indicator card (HIC) placed inside the sealed bag provides visual confirmation of bag integrity at the point of opening — standard practice in professional electronics manufacturing to detect any seal failure during storage or transit.
