Green PET tape — manufactured from green polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polyester film with a high-temperature silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive — is the standard masking tape for electronics manufacturing and industrial surface finishing across Southeast Asia. Two grades are available: Standard Grade for powder coating, wave soldering, and general PCB masking (continuous 150°C, peak 200°C), and High Temp Grade for lead-free reflow soldering and precision electronics masking where short-term peak temperatures reach 260°C.
Green PET tape — also known as green high-temperature masking tape or green polyester tape — is a single-sided adhesive tape made from a PET polyester film base coated with high-temperature silicone adhesive. The green color provides clear visual identification of masked areas on the production line, and the PET film maintains dimensional stability that prevents tape shrinkage, wrinkling, or edge lifting during elevated-temperature processes. It is the cost-effective alternative to polyimide (Kapton) tape for applications where temperatures do not exceed 260°C.
Continuous temperature resistance to 150°C with short-term peak performance to 200°C. Suitable for powder coating cure cycles (160–200°C), wave soldering, anodizing, and general PCB masking where lead-free reflow peak temperatures are not required. The silicone adhesive bonds securely to FR4, copper, aluminum, and stainless steel, releasing cleanly with no residue after processing. Thickness 0.055–0.08mm, adhesion 8–12 N/25mm.
Continuous temperature resistance to 180°C with short-term peak performance to 260°C — specifically rated for lead-free reflow soldering thermal profiles. The upgraded silicone adhesive formulation increases bond strength during heat exposure, preventing tape lifting or solder bleed-under at the tape edge during SMT reflow. Used for PCB gold finger masking, connector masking during reflow, and conformal coating masking where dimensional precision is critical. Thickness 0.06–0.10mm, adhesion 10–15 N/25mm. RoHS and REACH compliant.
Silicone adhesive releases cleanly from PCB substrates, copper, ENIG, HASL, OSP surface finishes, aluminum, and most engineering plastics after thermal processing — leaving no adhesive film or ghost marks that would require cleaning before subsequent operations.
The PET film does not elongate, shrink, or wrinkle at rated temperatures — maintaining precise masking coverage and sharp tape edge definition throughout the full process cycle.
PET film tears cleanly by hand at precise points without scissors — enabling fast tape application and cut-to-length operation on PCB assembly lines and powder coating lines.
Available from 3mm for precision connector pin and gold finger masking, up to 50mm and beyond for broad-area surface protection. Custom widths and die-cut shapes available on request.

Masking of PCB gold fingers, edge connectors, contact pads, and through-hole component areas during wave soldering (Standard Grade) and lead-free SMT reflow soldering (High Temp Grade). The tape prevents solder bridging, flux contamination, and thermal damage to masked areas.
Masking of threaded holes, bearing seats, mating surfaces, and precision-located features during powder coating cure cycles at 160–200°C. Standard Grade is sufficient for most powder coating applications. The tape prevents powder penetration and provides clean coating edges after removal.
Protecting unplated areas of electronic components and precision metal parts during selective gold, nickel, tin, and chrome plating, and anodizing of aluminum components. The silicone adhesive resists plating bath chemistry without tape degradation or bleed-under.
Masking of PCB connectors, test points, and heat-generating components during UV-cure and thermally-cured conformal coating application. High Temp Grade is specified where conformal coating cure temperatures approach 180°C.

No. Green PET tape is made from polyester film and is suitable for temperatures up to 260°C (High Temp Grade, short-term peak). Kapton tape is made from polyimide film and withstands sustained temperatures above 260°C. For standard PCB reflow soldering and powder coating, green PET tape is the cost-effective specification. For continuous exposure above 260°C, specify polyimide tape.

High Temp Grade. Lead-free reflow profiles require short-term peak temperatures of 250–260°C, which exceeds the Standard Grade rating. Specify High Temp Grade for all lead-free SMT reflow applications.
